Forestview track star narrows recruiting list to five schools

GASTONIA - Thirty-five colleges are chasing Forestview senior sprinter Stormy Kendrick. Five qualified for the final stage of her selection process.
Clemson, Penn State, Miami, Oklahoma and Texas top Kendrick's list of favorite schools, her AAU coach, Valentino Sykes, said Monday.
She will make official visits in October and December before choosing a school and signing her national letter of intent Feb. 4.
Kendrick chose the five schools because they each have strong track programs and graduation rates above 90 percent for student-athletes graduating in four years, Sykes said.
