SANFORD — Chris Cherry is taking his ball and going home.
The Southern Lee Athletic Director and head boys’ basketball coach submitted his resignation to school officials over the weekend after accepting the boys’ basketball head coaching position at Goldsboro High School.
Cherry cited family reasons for making the move.
“It’s a family decision,” he told The Herald on Monday.“We were looking to move back east and get a little closer to home.”
